MSA Sport provided design services to renovate Beacon’s existing building into a cutting edge medical facility that focuses on patient surgery and recovery, enhanced physical therapy, and high performance athletic training.
Enhancing the Facility
Beacon is the premiere orthopaedic surgical and therapeutic facility in the region known best for serving professional, collegiate, and high school athletes. The renovation includes expanded medical offices, a new x-ray room, expanded physical therapy space, new high performance training space, relocated administrative offices, a new conference center and a wet lab. The majority of the renovation occurred in the existing building used previously for batting cages and high-performance training.
From Warmup to Recovery
The physical therapy space and modernized high performance training (D1) share cardio and weight equipment, lending an energetic and athletic air to the physical therapy treatment space. The conference center is designed to accommodate in-house training and meetings as well as host educational seminars and staff training that can include the practice of surigcal techniques in the wet lab. The web lab includes lockers and scrub room and can accommodate up to 5 surgical teams working around each table. Surgical procedures in the web lab can be observed from window in the new conference room.
