Eric Foss Championship Performance Center – Ball State University
The Eric Foss Championship Performance Center at Ball State University is a bold, high-performance strength and conditioning hub designed by MSA Sport and integrated into the Worthen Arena athletics precinct in Muncie, Indiana.
High-Performance Home for Cardinal Athletics
This new 10,000 SF facility serves as a centralized training home for 18 of Ball State’s 19 varsity programs, positioned adjacent to Worthen Arena and directly connected to the Dr. Don Shondell Practice Center. A large primary training floor is supported by a cardio mezzanine, office and support spaces, recovery zones, and a dedicated nutrition bar to reinforce daily fueling and performance routines.
Connected to Campus and Everyday Training
Expansive glazing and overhead doors link the main floor to an exterior synthetic turf training area and the adjacent campus lawn, extending workouts outdoors and providing strong visual ties back to campus life. The architecture complements the existing Worthen Arena complex while clearly expressing a next-generation training environment—positioning the Eric Foss Championship Performance Center as a transformative addition to Ball State’s athletic footprint.
