Bringing a piece of the Windy City to the Queen City, Senate serves up Chicago-style dogs in a sophisticated, urban setting.
Contemporary Cool
Exposed brick, shelving, and cabinets constructed of re-used wood from surrounding buildings give the 1300sf space its urban, industrial chic atmosphere. The space finds ornamentation in structure and materials. Honest, simple materials such as horizontal wood wall panels, exposed brick exterior walls, a sleek concrete bar, black and white tile flooring, and simple, classic lighting strike a balance between turn-of-the-century and contemporary cool.
Open Patio to Over-the-Rhine
Nestled in a row of historic buildings, the eatery stays true to Over-the-Rhineās architectural character, while providing a modernized interior that opens-up to engage street life. Senate seats approximately 50, including the bar and a communal table near the open kitchen. Weather permitting; the accordion storefront opens to a patio seating another dozen people. The deliberate minimalistic design approach maximizes an otherwise small space, allowing the focus to be on people and food.
