The Center for Sport Sciences is a new comprehensive indoor athletic training facility on the campus of Wilmington College.
A home for the Wilmington College Athletic Training Program
The center is constructed just east of the exiting football and track stadium, directly adjacent to a natural turf field and acts as an extension of and compliment to the existing campus athletic amenities. The facility serves as the primary home for the Wilmington College Athletic Training program offering a hydro training area, recruitment room, classroom space, administrative offices and a 15,000SF indoor synthetic turf field. In addition, the center offers professional services including physical therapy, orthopedic, and imaging.
The Hub for Optimal Athletic Performance
As a part of the new Center for Sports Sciences at Wilmington College, MSA Sport was engaged by the College to study the feasibility of expanding the CSS to include a new indoor running center / multi-purpose facility for Quaker Athletics. The project features a new NCAA competition 200M indoor track with associated field events, a multi-purpose synthetic turf practice infield with 50’ of center field clearance, viewing galleries, locker rooms, as well as concessions and viewing platforms overlooking Williams Stadium. The adjacency of the project to the new CSS provides a hub of athletic performance and competition unheard of nationally at the NCAA Division 3 level.
